Tire sizes

Well i need 2 new tires. But im thinking about getting a different size for the fronts because these are the only ones i need to replace right now.
Right now I have 205/40/17s all around:
Im trying to decide if it will look ok if i get

215/45/17s for the front

and the 205/40/17s still in the rear

How will this look? or should i find 215/40/17s

i would suggest that you just buy a set and keep the 'good' ones for spares or sell them, but then you do what you have to...i wouldnt mix myself

im running 205/45 right now and on the next set i will be running 215/40

IMO, that would look retarded.

215-40 so the profile of the tires won't look so noticably different. The only bad thing is there aren't many tires that come in 215-40. Are you going to run different tires than the rear?

It's functional - if your car is rear wheel drive. Otherwise, doing the opposite (bigger in the front, smaller in the rear) works for FWD.
