Midas Lifetime VSD Pads?

I saw a commercial on TV about these brake pads that you supposedly don't have to change for the lifetime of your car. I watched it a couple of times to see if what I was hearing was right, and it sounds like that to me. Has anyone tried these brake pads out? I'm about to hit 30,000 miles and probably gonna change my brake pads for a 2nd time pretty soon. Not having to buy any new pads for the life of the car sounds great.

shure it sounds great, but you have to understand that inorder to have pads last that long, they would have to be very hard. and very hard pads dont grip the rotor very well, so you will end up with a little less braking power. this would probably never be noticed/missed by some one like maybe your mom who never really works the brakes, but for some one who pushes their car a bit more then the norm, that extra braking power may end up saving your a$$ when you get in to trouble. They are probably good pads, but get them for your mom, or you Girl friend.

Anyone else have any opinions on these? I would like to know another opinion on the stopping ability. Maybe they will be fine for me, with my quick reflexes.

I think that S2000man said on here once that they will also shorten the life of your rotors, cause they are so hard. And brake pads are way the hell cheaper than new rotors. I wouldn't do it man. Get yourself some decent pads from a parts store and do it yourself, or get the 'stealership' to do it for you. Just get the rotor refinished and replace the pads, but not with the Midas ones.
