Anyone gotten any of these newer AEM black rotors? Apparently they're just slotted, no more drilled action and they only come in black - solid black. Has anyone purchased/installed these and/or heard anything (good or bad) about 'em? I'm interested in finding out how well they fit and work. Not only that, I wanna know if they're still part of that Big Rotor Kit deal or if they decided to scrap that and just come out with aftermarket replacements for the factory rotors. Any and all info on this would be much appreciated. Thanks.

Those are the new big rotors. The black stuff is a new coating that is supposed to help the brakes wear better and not heat up as quickly. Slotted only... but crossdrilled brakes aren't all that great.... they crack. No one on here that I've heard has installed them, but you're welcome to guinea pig it for us.

LOL actually i talked to AEM the reason they are no longer making the colored hats is money. The black ones are one pieced rotors and are a lot heavier than the old two piece which i have on my front wheels. The reason for them being only slotted again is money has nothing to do with cracking. The AEM rorts havent had the problems that the other rotors have had in the past. I say these things because i did the research

Cool, thanks for the input. Even though I do like the drilled look, there's something about the black rotors. I personally haven't seen any cars around here with black rotors and think they'd look pretty sweet with some red calipers on a black coupe with a little red trim.
