Wider wheels & alignment

Apologies in advance if this is a dumb question, but:

In reading some of the members' posts about wider rims, drops, camber kits, and so on, I've gotten a little confused: will adding wider wheels but NOT dropping my car throw off my alignment in any way? Is the camber, etc. affected by JUST adding wider wheels without any lowering?

It shouldn't mess up your alignment, but when I got my rims put on, they checked my alignment and I needed it fixed. That just could be because my car had never had an alignment before.

No, as long as you keep the original tire+ rim diameter (you can use the calculator on this site.

nope, you can get wider/bigger wheels and the alignment will stay the same as before you put them on...
wheels dont effect alignment, n yes this includes camber

I would be best if you get a new wheel and tire set up to get the alignment done.
most places will do this if you get the set up from them.
This way from the start you are sure that the alignmet is correct and you jack a new set of rubber. It is a little insurance/assurance policy when getting new tires.
But do what you like.
