What's wrong with Kumho tires?
I have Kumho Ecsta 711's (215/40/17) and I think they are great. They have great traction in dry and wet weather. And they are priced decently. The treadwear is 320, the traction is AA(which is the highest you can get), and the temp. is A. I was just wondering why alot of people don't like Kumho's.

yea , i have had some 225/40/18 kumho 712 and i have had bubbles in two of the tires... and from many of the people that i know with real sports car say that these tires have no traction compared to many other tires on the market. but for the price these are good tires other than the bubbles, and well there are just better tires on the market.
Ain't nothin wrong
I don't drive aggressively with my Kumho's and I haven't experienced any bubbling.
I keep my 205/55/16s at 35psi all around.
They sure are a heckuva lot better the stock firestones.

The "bubbling" that you guys are talking about is called an impact seperation it happens when you hit something too hard and it breaks the side wall construction. This happens to EVERY tire made, it doesn't matter if they are $500 tires or $50 tires, Kumho's are ok tires you can buy tires with much better grip they are great tires for the price though.

A tire is a tire too me...I just look at treadwear....And Kuhmo's have a lower tread wear(Ive always been told they are soft) meaning they wear quicker...Thats why i chose my nankangs 320 treadwear(comparable to ventus tires which are also 320) btw nankangs are cheaper than kuhmos

First off, you can not compair tread wear rateings between Different companys. Each co. submits their own tire as a base. (Thank you US regulators
)
Second, The LOWER the tread wear rateing the Softer the Rubber and thus Stickyer the tire.
Third, That A or AA or what ever is the rating of the tires is STRAITE LINE WET BRAKING not the rating of the tires dry traction. Tires Need LESS tread for Better DRY traction and More Tread for WET traction. SO it can be estimated that all things being equal, ie, tread wear/tire design. the Tire with the Lower wet brakeing rateing should perform better in the dry then the Higher rated Wet Brakeing rateing.
Fourth who ever these people who said "... and from many of the people that i know with real sports car say that these tires have no traction compared to many other tires on the market. "
Have never used Kumho V700 Victoracers or the ECSTA V700. Both are Highly acclaimed DOT Legal Race compound tires. The newer ECSTA MX Is designed to compete with Falkens Azenis Sport tires, which are considered some of the best street compound tires on the market today By Autocrossers acrost the country.

I have almost 10K miles on them. I love the tires too! I guess it is the best "bang for the buck." All I have is lowered suspension w/ Kumho Ecsta 712 Supra. I did a corkscrew corner doing about 51 mph until I started to drift a little. Gotta luv them!

I think it's a name thing. I wanted the name Potenza, I paid for it, and I got what I paid for. I've driven a car with the same size/profile rim set-up (215/45/17) and I think my tires handled better. Maybe it's in my head, but I like my tires. If you all like yours, more power to you.
