sales guy at speedandstyle.com will not sell me a wheel and tire package with this size tire, wtf???

told him what year, model etc. told him I wanted 17 inch wheels, (didn't even say what kind yet), with this size tire, told him I don't have a drop, whats the problem? says they're to big and I don't need them that big, I said I want them that big...said he wouldn't do it.

WTF, sounds like he does'nt want to sell a set of rims too badly. Anyway that tire size will fit perfectly and is in no way too tall. Ask him what size tire he will give you for an 18" wheel and see what he says. He will probably say 215/35-18 which is just about the same in height as 215/45-17.

It could be that he doesn't know what he's talking about. When I was looking for rims around town, one guy at a tire shop told me that 17's were going to be too big for my car, look ugly and I'd regret it. I should roll by his shop and show him...

Here's 215/45/17, there's plenty of room... he must not have wanted to sell you rims that badly. Go somewhere else.

He doesn't know what he's talking about. I just got a pair of Kumho 215/45/17 tires on my new konig wheels and they fit fine without a single problem.

215/45/17 tires are also more expensive compared to 205/40/17.

I've got 215/45/17 on my car and there is now problem. I got them that size cause I don't want to lower my car yet and they fill up the wheel well really good.

I think you meant "no problem" lol? I want that size tire for the same reasons, fills the wheel well and protects the wheel from the gaping potholes that should probably be called craters around Massachusetts. My brother had 18 inch Oettingers on his GTI and bent one in pothole last year. Anyways, I guess I'll just wait a few more weeks and get the RacingHart S7's I originally wanted from Wheelmax. I was going to buy either G-Racing Niko's or Arospeed Chaos from SpeedandStyle and use the 10% off code (does that still work?) to save a little money. Oh wellz, their loss I guess...

You do realize you could still buy the rims from them, save your 10% and buy the tires elsewhere, then get them mounted right? Seriously, if they have the rims you want for cheapest, then buy the damn things and if they don't want to make the tire money, just give it to someone else. Discount tire direct has free shipping on tires, and Tire Rack's prices are less than that (they are both about the same when you add shipping). Then take them to a shop, and get them mounted. It seems that most people that have mail ordered packages have had them re-balanced anyways, so just get it done right the first time.

What a jerk. He obviously didn't want the sale. I have 215/40/17 and have no problems. They work just fine and look great.
