2003 OEM Civic Tires

I was just wondering if the 2003 Civic's had the Firestone Fr600 series tires on them like the 2001, and the 2002? I just went from having 17 inch rims with Falken Z rated tires back to my stock 15 inch steelies with the fr600's and stock hubs. My 17's drove so much better.....They gave off such a smooth ride compared to the PEM tires, and in the rain and snow were so much better that stock. Whats the deal with that?

Then I guess Honda stuck with the Firestones. How do you think they handle in the rain and the snow?

ak can only hope to improve
I believe they are still using the same tires. Even the 03 EX coupe (Si rims) use the firestone tires... tsk at honda!

The deal is, they're stock tires. If you haven't noticed, these days the tires that come on your new car are CHEAP. The cheaper the car the cheaper the tire. A lot of cars coming to a car dealer near you is a Firestone tire so your car manufacturer can save money. (Make sense?) Don't be surprised. The first thing I did to my car was change the damn tires. Those tires have no grip and no width but are adequate if you drive the speed limit all the time. In any extreme condition or a horrible weather change, they are just dying to crash your car.

I believe they are still using the same tires. Even the 03 EX coupe (Si rims) use the firestone tires... tsk at honda!
Not really... if you think about it... why would a Honda Civic need "performance" tires? Even the Acura Integra Type R had fairly good tires (for the car's ability). Only problem was they didn't last for ****. It's just a ploy to save money... kinda like how Honda uses the thinnest sheet metal on our car's doors.

Let's just say you could find a better tire although they are cheap as hell.
