Tire Rotation for a 1500 mile drive?

I have I think 4K or 5K miles on my tires. I'm going back to Texas this weekend to drive my car back down to San Diego. My time is tight, so I don't have time to bring to to get rotated. Can I just switch the FrontLeft to RearLeft and FrontRight to RearRight? They're Kumho Ecsta 712. I don't know how rotating directional tires go... Can anybody help? What should I do? THANX!!

1) Drive it back to San Diego before rotation?
2) Stay up late at night to switch the rims around (if thats possible and the correct way)

I think you're supposed to do it every 7500, so I don't think you would need to do it anyway.

Yeah, you guys are right... Well some have said 5K-7K. I just notice that my front tires are smaller than my rears, which is normal due to front wheel drive. I'll just do it when I get back to Cali. Wish me luck on the long boring *** drive

OK your tires are directional ( I am pretty sure) you can check on the side of the tire to be sure there is an arrow with rotation written near it. To rotate directional tires you must keep them on the SAME side ie: Left front to left rear, Right front to right rear. You can defently wait, I would get them rotated at a wheel/tire shop so you don't over torque the lug nuts.

Yeah, that's how you rotate them. The guys at Kauffman Tire told me to come in and get them rotated and balanced every 3-6000 miles to make the tire last. It's every 7500 for you crappy, stock tires.
