Is anyone using 225/35/18??????????

I used the tire calculator and it said this size was only .96 off my orignial, i have a 2002 civic ex coupe and I wanted to get some 18s but i am worried about the speedomter reading and I dont know much about tires, so I was asking before I can in so I know what I want. Also why do people say if your more into performacne then you should only go with 16s or 17s at the biggest? Thanks

666 is an unknown quantity at this point
The 225 width may be too wide and rub, I have 215/35 and its pretty close. I think someone here is using 225/35's though. The reason people say to go with 16's or 17's is because those generally weigh less than an 18" wheel or a 19". The less weight you have for wheels is the less unsprung weight the engine has to turn to get the car moving. Meaning it will accelerate quicker.
