***NOTE to Moderators*** I know this is a repost but that's because I wasn't aware of the "Member Rides" section before.
Hi all,
Name's Vee, nice to meet y'all. Got myself an 05 Civic EX sedan about 6 months ago, done a few things to it (see pics below).
In Thailand, the top model for the 05 Civic (my car) comes with a K20A3 engine (same as in EP3), not the 220 hp K20A2.
Please help rate my progress so far, I haven't touched the suspension or the engine yet, waiting for the warranty to expire (April 08). I know the sub at the back is weighing down the suspension, so the suspension will be the first thing that I'll do when the warranty runs out.
Thanks everybody.
Vee
Basic Specs (much more details, see pix)
- Painted Red Valve cover
- 2" stainless steel pipe cat back
- Spoon N1 stainless muffler (copy)
- SSR (copy Rota P45R) 18" x 8" ET +45
- Yokohama 225/35/R18
- HID Super Blue 2 pairs
- Acrylic sub enclosure
The valve is only painted, not K20A2
Yokohama S-Drive 225/35/18

Was there a higher output K20a2 Honda produced that I wasn't aware of? The K20a2 used in the RSX is 200 at the crank. Either way, nice car and those headlights are sick, which kind are they? And the foglights are sexy for shows, I like them. However not so sexy for the road, I'd keep them show only.
sick car man; i think everything works really well together. i definitely wish the US didn't get boned when it comes to engine choices in cars.

Thanks for the compliments everybody. Appreciate em a lot. I'll try to answer all your questions
Ques 1.) The deal with the blue lenses on the foglights.
Ans 1.) Ideally, I wanted to match the fog lights with the headlights (black surround on the inside surface). However, this is only possible for the headlights cuz its lenses is plastic, but the fog lenses are glass. I ended up going with the blue sticker (it's only a sticker, see details below) to enhance the color of the HID bulbs.
See detailed pix below and you'll see how the black and orange surround is done for the headlight lenses.
My taillights and the fender lights also have a sticker on them hence the orange color.
The headlights are blacked out inside along with orange paint in the corner. There's a guy that does that in BKK for $25. The lens need to be taken apart into three pieces (the plastic on the outside, the middle part separating the bulb section, and the reflective glass at the back.) All the parts are then spray painted (black, orange, any color you want). After completion, silicon and heat is used to put in back together. No issues with water getting inside.

Ques 2.) Output of K20A3 and K20A2
Ans 2.) Sorry bout that, meant 200 hp for K20A2 and 220 hp for K20A.
Ques 3.) Automatic transmission!!
Ans 3.) Yeah, it'd be better with a manual but we don't get it here. I'm thinking that in the future (long ways ahead), I'll probably do a manual trans swap from a DC5 Type R. Hopefully.................
Ques 4.) Rims
Ans 4.) You'd probably get the same rims in the US, it's a Rota P45R (18" x 8" ET+45). It's a design knockoff from the Nismo LMGT4 (i think). I'd suggest a ET +40 for a better, wider stance (not sure if Rota makes it though).
Ques 5.) US gets ignored.
Ans 5.) Not really, you get the Civic SI (FD generation K20A2) with a manual transmission and all we get is the Civic FD with a K20A3 (155 hp at crank with an auto). Probably right about the ES though, but you do get the Acura RSX Type S, which is not sold here..... I'm jealous.
Ques 6.) Sub enclosure
Ans 6.) Got it done at shop, cost me $800 excluding the equipments. $800 for the wooden enclosure, acrylic, fake leather, and LEDs. I was paying homage to Civic Type R with the "Type R" font on the bottom. NOTE*** the enclosure could have been bigger but I wanted to have access to my spare tire. The "Type R" panel lifts up to get to the spare.
