opinions needed!

i'm thinking about getting 17"x7.5" rims with 205/40/17 tires. i checked the tire calc. and it fits fine, but i want to know if they will rub on a 2.25" drop? or will i have to raise my car? i have the stock ex rims/tires right now and there is no tire-fender gap. thanks for the input.
