Need Help! sqeaking noise when stepping on brakes

hi im new and i tried searching so dont hate but i was wondering if anyone could help me with my problem:

okay when i step on the brakes i notice my car making this loud sqeaking noise and sounds like something grinding. okay i went to look at the breaks i openned it up and then there was still brakes left i thought there were no more brakes left and it was time to change it but it was still alot. so i put it back and used brake cleaner and stuff. so i put everything back and hoping that the sqeaking would stop. i tried it again and it was still grinding it sounded so nasty if anyone can help me that would be greatful thanks....

Did you check the front and rear brakes? On the front brakes make sure that you have even pad wear on both sides of the caliper, sometimes (rarely but does happen) the caliper will stick and cause the inside pad to wear prematurely. Squeeking isn't unheard of, in fact its quite common but a grinding noise isn't good. If the grinding persists take to the dealer or a good shop ASAP.

Are you refering to the front or rear brakes? If its the front thats "stuck" you most likely have a caliper sticking, the way to fix this is a new caliper (or if you know how just rebuild it). If its the rear brakes it might be that the brake shoes are over adjusted or maybe something broke, or it could be the parking brake is sticking, or the brake shoes are toast and need replacing or all of the things. Either way you have a problem and you don't want to mess around with your brakes because they're the most important part of your car. If you're not familer with how the systems works than bite the bullet and take it to a shop or if its under warrenty the dealer.
