Rotors warped??
I put a new set of brake pads on at about 40,000 miles and ever since my rotors have been acting funny....from what i know the car comes with organic pads stock but I put on a set or semimetallic pads as replacements.....now only when i brake down from high speeds, like 80 or so coming off the highway i can feel the wheel shake and some vibration from my pedal....its weird to me that its only at high speeds, if I am driving around town i never feel a thing, pretty much unnoticeable at any speed under 60mph....im pretty sure im gonna have to get new rotors and new pads now....if any of you can answer either question I have it would help me out alot:
#1 - Did this happen most likely because of the semi metallic pads?
#2 - Should I get OEM replacements or an after market pad and rotor set?
Thanks in advance everyone

wow, vibration at 40K, that's impressive...well, if you feel it in the seat of you pants, that's the rears that are going. If the vibration transfers to either the pedals or the steering wheel, it's definitely the fronts. I had mine go at 76K. Mind you, I have an older car, but even when I removed them, you couldn't tell by visibly looking at the surface. I replaced my rotors (along with pads) and it was all good afterwards. The funny thing about rotors is when they go, they'll start slow and then accelerate fast. It was pretty bad when I replaced mine.
As for the pads, I had a set of EBC brake pads, and they're known to wear through rotors pretty quick, so it all depends on the material. Semimetallic pads will definitely eat through your rotor faster than organic...
For replacements, I got a set of Brembo blanks, which are better than stock but with the same looks as stock. Unless you're doing heavy heavy breaking like autocrossing, there's no need for cross-drilled or slotted. Realistically, they're mostly for looks.
From what I've read up, the most effective combination in older gens has been Brembo Blanks and AEM pads. Remember, it's always a good idea to replace both the rotors AND the pads at the same time. Helps them seat together better.
I got my brembo blanks through Nopi, and they work great, and I only paid 17.00 per rotor. Can't beat that deal at all! I have a set of AEM pads for the front, and they're new in the box...nopi sent the wrong ones, so they'll fit 7th gens. They're up for grabs...

damn rotors are that cheap? but then those would rust huh.. someone here can get brembos for 150, n i thought that was cheap. yes they're slotted/drilled but i thought even blank rotors would be atleast 100 for both

yeah, that's by far the best deal I've seen. Tirerack sells the blanks for 40 each, which is STILL not bad. I saw it and was like hells yeah I'll get that! They shipped fast too...
