Is my speedometer off??
I just got new tires. Swapped the Deathstones with Khumo Ecsta HP 4s. The stock tire size was 185/70/14, the new tires are 195/60/14. I can tell they are a lower profile, how much will my speedometer be off? Thanks.
EDIT: I just checked the tire calculator and it said %4 faster with new tires, so does this mean if my speedo read 100mph I'd really be going 96mph?
Mohawk- you caught me before the edit. Thanks.

yet again....use the tire calculator conveniently located at the top right hand corner of the site (link to it)....you'll be off less than .4%..so when your speedo says 60..you'll be going 59.7ish
100mph I'd really be going 96mph?
this is correct. It's going to read 4% faster than your true speed.
Something else to consider, it's also going to make you odometer run faster. This will rack up miles sooner and if you are under warranty, you'll reach the 36,000 miles about 1400 miles sooner.

Run the tire calc.
Plug in
Stock tire = 185 70 14
The plug in
New tire = 195 60 14
Results:
Stock Circumference = 76.0166
New Circumference = 72.9245
Speedometer reading with new tire = 4.36768% too high.
Now if you want to put that in decimals for calculating purposes, that's 0.04. But in percentage numbers it's 4.0% rounded off.
If that's a problem, then talk to the tire size calculator, cause that's where I got the numbers.
Don't take my word for it. Run the numbers on the tire size calculator.
