wheels or tires shake when braking

when i drive over 65 and then brake, the wheels or tires start to shake. is there something wrong with my brakes, or do i need to rotate tires, or is it something else?

Sounds like you need a visit to the shop. Warped brake rotor, worn pads, could be many things.

I don't know how hard its shaking, but if you also hear a thud-thud thumping and you have an EX chances are its the ABS. If you never had that problem before then I guess it'd be something else.

ABS prevents wheel lock by applying the brakes in taps. Could it be that?

Well, my guess would be that it is shaking because of the warped rotors...thru looking at other threads with the same symptoms, my guess is that it would be a warped or really worn rotor...scrape some moolah together and buy some slotted or cross-drilled with some new pads...

i would bet money that it is your rotors. Mine are the same way, not too bad but you can definately feel it at higher speeds when braking. You can have your rotors turned alot cheaper than buying new ones, especially if you take them off your car and take them in to the shop it saves you from paying them all the labor to take your wheels and rotors off and back on. Or you can do what someone else said and just drob a couple greenbacks and buy some nice performance rotors.!?
