Props to toyo, anyone with bent rims read this
riiight... my EX has reinforced 205/40ZR17 toyo FZ4 Proxies wrapped around gunmetal motegi MR7's and inflated to 42 PSI
long story short, i hit a nicely sized NJ pothole, and the bump was so horrible that i KNEW i hurt something... and sure enough there was a shake in the steering wheel... first though was "oh god, there goes THAT rim"
i got out and looked... no bent rim... the tire sustained abit of damage though, it actually had stress cracks in it and a HUGE bulge in the sidewall... i took it to the shop i got them from and they were like, "yeah, toyo will replace that" they took a picture, sent the pic to toyo and on thursday i get my new tire.
i'd say that these tires are a good investment for anyone worried about busting a rim...
