Researching Rota Wheels...

I have been all over this site and the rest of the internet looking for information about Rota Wheels. I can't really find a darn thing. So can I get a little help? I've been to the Rota homepage, and a few other sites that give weights and the like, but nothing that gives any info about quality or manufacturing processes (aside from the fact they're cast) or anything.
So:
1. Are they Japanese or something? They're hard to find.
2. Are they knockoffs of an expensive brand of wheels? The prices are very low.
3. Where and how are they made?
4. Is there anything else I should know? Maybe someone has some websites that are good for researching this kind of stuff, but I've been coming up empty.
I've narrowed it down to Enkei Bortex RPM2 or Rota Formel , found lots of Enkei info, but can't get anything on Rota. Thanks for the help....

Rota wheels are manufactured by Ro-Ja engineering, owned by R.J. DeVera. I guess they're made in the Phillipines? And they're mostly casted, with pretty strict quality control regulations. They're replicas of expensive wheels, but they're good ones.

nope....Rota wheels are not made by Rj Devera...lol Rota is manufactured in the Philipines by Philippine Aluminum Wheels, Inc. ....Rota rims are high quality...as stated in their website "PAWI) holds the coveted ISO 9001 (manufacturing quality and design) certification and QS 9000 which upholds the quality standards of the Big 3 U.S. carmakers." my next set of rims are gonna be 17 in rota attacks in steel grey...for a good price try

Unfortunately we do not offer wheels & tires package because shipping would cost more and not only that, it would be much more expensive. It would be cheaper if you buy your tires seperately, locally. Although, if you really want it, we can do it.

We can do 15" Rota Silpstreams' for $380 plus shipping and recommend you tires for 195/50/15, it would probably cost you $50-$70 for a pretty good tire brand in your local tire store mounted an balanced. It would be an approximate of $580, cheaper than CBWheels.com.

Could you tell me how much for a set of 17" Rota Attack in the steel gray? I've been looking to get rims for awhile but was concerned with the Rota quality. You can PM me or e-mail. Thanks. GPippo@aol.com

Listen - I drive a goddamn Civic, I don't see the need to buy a $2000 plus set of wheels to put on it when I live in a state that has potholes everywhere! I'm not in the mood to bend another expensive wheel because of potholes, not for this car. I bought a set of Advan Model 5 for my former IS300 and not a month after getting them, I bent one when I hit a pothole that I didn't see in the road. It gets kinda expensive when you have to replace wheels that cost $600 a piece and that aren't always in-stock because they're imported from Japan. So get a clue.

If you want to get a set of wheels that cost more than the down payment on your car, be my guest, to each his own... but don't rag on people who don't see the need to for whatever reason.
