Could you put Baby Moon hubcaps and polished trim rings on standard Civic rims? I know our wheel covers are held on with the lug nuts, but would the little hupbaps snap on to the wheels? I think that would look neat and retro but don't know if the caps will work.

We used to just take of the wheel covers and run with bare black wheels on account of the wheel covers wanting to come off when racing. Some people never raced, but they took their hubcaps off just for "looks".

"why do people street race? "

Because they are afraid to go on the highway?

Those pics confirm to me that black weels look like crap. You might as well just take off the wheel covers and run the stock wheels. Quite an un finished look.

After I got my Formula Firebird I pretty much gave up street racing. Went to Interstate top end racing. Not too many will even try to keep up after a few miles at 120, and at 140 +, virutally nobody will try.

I love those Volks also, however they are the LE37T. Their standard color is gunmetal with that polished lip. They just look beautiful, really really want a set to go on my silver coupe. Not willing to spend $2000 on a set of 17's though.

I can't tell that the wheel has a polished lip from the pictures. I keep coming back to look and still can't see it. Maybe I am blind or something.

They are very expensive but if you have ever checked out auctions for used ones on ebay, you would know that they hold their value quite well.

Unstoppable,

"Why do people pay $16,000 a car and have YOU tell them what they should put on it and looks good?

Yes you are talking out of your
People have their own tastes/preferences, which is why they put altezza, black rims, or whatever goodies that floats their boat. Personaly I think they look like winter tires when they are in motion, but to each their own right?"

Nicely Said!!!

I just wanted to add my 2 cents, but I'm not sure if anyone will read this far into the post anyways, but I do like black rims. Part of the reason is that I have a silver car and silver or chrome or whatever kind of metal like color doesn't pop as much on a silver car. Plus black just looks so bad ***. Its also different from the 2 million other cars with silver metal color wheels. Some of those other pics of cars other than silver with black wheels looked pretty nice with black wheels. I used to be the same way and not like black wheels by the way. They grew on me!
