Plastic ring

A question for anyone who can help. I have a set of 17 inch Enkei RF1 wheels. Recently on a trip south I hit a pothole in Indiana and bent the passenger front. To make things a little worse when I was taking off the lugs I got the locking one off, went to the next lug and broke the key. It just all of a sudden sheared on me. I have gorilla lugs so good thing I had an allen that fit. Anyway back to the original question. When i took off the wheel there was a plastic ring around the center on the rotor. I had to break it off to be able to put on the spare. Is that piece important? Do I need to get a new one or can I do without?

Uh slightly. Why didn't you take it off before you put on the spare? Anyhow that is what keeps the rim in the right place. You don't absolutly need it BUT you will feel it if it isn't there.
