Rep Power: 0 Wheel lock security
So i just spend $35 for wheel locks for my new wheels which comes in a set of 4, 1 for each wheel. Will would-be theives still be able to steal my wheels or will this wheel lock without the key deter them from being able to take it off my ride? Thanks all...

Rep Power: 0 They will help with your casual thief. However, if someone wants those wheels and knows what they are doing, your wheel locks won't mean a thing.

Rep Power: 0 Your suppose to lie to me and say they will protect me against everything so i can sleep comfortably at night!
Eventually I'll get an alarm but even those won't safe guard me against a professional theif.
Anyone know how much the pager alarms cost and the install cost on them are?
I saw an ad in a Performance Auto & Sound magazine which is a canadian magazine that I saw on spring break up there but our newstands don't carry it in Seattle.

Rep Power: 0 Midknightz the alarm system you are talking about are cheap here in my country. They costed a friend of mine $240. They come with a remote control that can do allot (open windows and sunroof using the remote). It even comes with sensors that are fitted all around the car: doors and windows, trunk, engine hood, 4 wheels and even the sunroof, so who whoever tries to get into your car or steal from it will get a deep sonic wave into his ears and run away. Hehehe i do mean he will be scared and run when the alarm is set on. There are many wheel theifs here in Oman and my friend got these nice Accord 16" wheels and one one was stolen after 1 week of installation. he got really pissed and went back like 1000 miles to get one wheel and this secutity alarm system to stop these freaks!!!!

Rep Power: 0 you may have 4 wheel locks, but there not all different,......
get at least 2 DIFFERENT locks,....and then a TILT sensor w/ your alarm.........
so when somone trys to jack up your car to take the wheels off the sensor senses it and the alarm goes off.....better than nothing.....and a 9mm.....your set....
but yes, if someone wants it bad enough, they'll get it......
its just that some obstacles might help out a little......

Rep Power: 0 Some sort of paging alarm is a must nowadays with alarms going off all the time. It's a wonder it hasn't caught on like wildfire. Jeez, some peoples mufflers are so freaking loud and ricey that they'll set off some alarms that have their settings set to sensitive. I would just like one that has the shock sensors to protect my new wheels and something on both front windows because thats a common way of theives breaking in. I guess a battery killer would help in case they tried to drive off in my ride.

Rep Power: 0 Check out McGard's Spline-Drive Lug Nuts . That's what I'm going with. It's pretty much the equivalent of putting a wheel lock on every lug. And they come in different colors!!!

Rep Power: 0 Just remember that with wheel locks, make sure you keep the key with you and not in your car. I had a friend who had wheel locks but some one broke in and looked in his glove compartment. There they found the key and took all his wheels.

Rep Power: 0 Bet he pissed his pants. I've already taken the key to my wheel lock and put it in my apartment. When alarm systems go off do you guys even make an effort to look or is it just an all too common thing and you curse the guy for having one?

Rep Power: 0 I don't pay much attention to car alarms. Usually, I don't just for spite because the alarm is going off because someone is overly paranoid and the sounds are downright annoying.
If you keep your key in your apartment, what are you going to do if you get a flat?

Rep Power: 0 Call my g/f who will pick me up in the middle of nowhere or drop off the wheel key. Hopefully I don't get a flat seeing that i've only had the wheels on for a day now. I also carry a can of fix-a-flat in my trunk along with jumpers just in case. What can i get to put in the spokes there aren't in use? Are those tuner lugs? And should I fill them with all silver or all black lugs?

Rep Power: 0 If a thief wants to take your rims they will be successful. Wheel locks came with my rims too, but I know if someone really wants them they are gone. It really doesnt matter.

Rep Power: 0 I had to take some wheel locks off a Jeep after I broke the lock key. I purchased this thing that has a spiral ball type end on it and you just tap it on and using a 18" breaker ratchet those "LOCK" nuts spin right off. JFYI.

Rep Power: 0 I'm thinking of a 9mm for wheel locks, i'll just start sleeping in my backseat nightly now thanks to you guys. Hey, it'll save me on an apartment. Actually i found the place in canada that has the little LCD monitor keychair that goes off if my car is being messed with and it kills the battery and has a seperate battery in the trunk power the airhorns which will be installed and blinking lights.
