Volk vs Konig vs Buddy Club

Hey guys I own a Civic EK3 with swapped B16A and I know the look I want but need some advise. I think these are Volks and they look to me like 16"(pics below)... My car is silver and I'm doing type R lip kits and lowered spring with Koni Red... rims I like so far are Buddy Club P1 SF with red lip/lining and Konig Feather's plus I just saw some Enkei EDR 9's with 38mm offset in 16" and they aint look bad at all. How can I get this fit? (pic below) The width on these rims would be perfect for me! Thanks !

Edit: Will be going about 2" drop on Ebach Springs and Koni Red

Re: Volk vs Konig vs Buddy Club

I would say those are 17s. You just need the right offset and to roll your fenders.

Re: Volk vs Konig vs Buddy Club

I can't tell. I was thinking 16" at first but they could be 17's. Best thing to do is check out EK forums and look at the members rides. We have members rides also, not sure how many EK's there are though.

You might want to consider going adjustable for the springs. It will allow you to fine tune the height. Don't know if you will get that look with a 2" drop

Re: Volk vs Konig vs Buddy Club

Those rims in the picture you posted appear to be Varrstoen (Volk TE37 replicas). And they are definitely 17s......probably 17x9s +30 if I had to guess.

The simple answer is, you won't be able to get that fitment with 16x7 +38 wheels, unless you use a big fat spacer. And, you will also need to be lower than 2 in.

Here's my car in 16x7 +40 Rota Slipstreams. You can see the wheels tuck a good bit (this was before I corrected the camber).

As far as wheel choices go.....the Volks will be the most expensive. But they will also be the lightest and the best quality. I do also like Buddy Club P1s.

If you want fitment like the picture you posted do research......you'll need coilovers, camber kits, fender work, and will also have to stretch you tires, something I'm not fond of.

Re: Volk vs Konig vs Buddy Club

I just realised the tags state they are 16's... my bad. tires are 195x40 stretched. It's slammed that why it looks that way. How many inches would be slammed tho?

These are the rims !!! The offset is 25mm...

Re: Volk vs Konig vs Buddy Club

You best bet is to lower the car first and then buy wheels. Once you get your height where you want you can measure for what wheel specs and fitment you want. Your going to need to probably go 2.5-3" drop. Measure the wheel gap.

Re: Volk vs Konig vs Buddy Club

Yeah, lower the car first. I'd suggest getting Koni Yellow shocks with Ground Control coilover sleeves.

Okay... trying to go with Ebach springs and Koni Red's but what drop would be good for 16x8?

Edit 205x40x16 tires

Re: Volk vs Konig vs Buddy Club

if you want fitment anywere near the car you posted, its going to be a 2.5-3 in drop.....which means you need coilovers.

Okay.. thank you. Would the Koni Red's handle that drop with ground control combo? The Progressive System appears to be decent to as far as reviews go.

Re: Volk vs Konig vs Buddy Club

Progress Coilovers are one of the best for the 7th gen. Can't imagine them being bad for any other car.

I know the yellows can handle it, not sure about the reds.

Re: Volk vs Konig vs Buddy Club

Go with Yellows. They are superior in every way, and are designed for lowered ride height, and can easily handle Ground Control sleeves.

Re: Volk vs Konig vs Buddy Club

Both are good.

Progress won't be able to go as low (only around 2.5in max), and don't have as many spring rate choices, and aren't damping adjustable. But they are around $150 cheaper.

Koni/GC has the ability to go lower, a TON of different spring rates, damping adjustable, and Lifetime warranty.

Re: Volk vs Konig vs Buddy Club

I believe you can order any rate you want even though they only list those options. Also they can be rebuilt, or re-valved if needed (not sure about Koni)

Lifetime warranty is nice, dampening adjustability is also. I have that ability with my KW's I just don't ever change it. If you want that then Koni's would be best.

Okay, I'm from the Caribbean and our roads are crazy here (potholes )... What spring rates with GC's and Yellow's would work best... I'm not going on the track either but need good street performance.

I would suggest something around 450 for the front, and 350-380 for the rear.
