I am looking to purchase 18 inch rims with 225/40/18 tires. I was wondering will this fit my car with no issues. I currently just have the stock steelies with no modification to the suspension

18s are to big for civics especially if your on stock suspension it will look like a mini truck. i would pass and save your money for something else or maybe sell the 18s for a profit.

plus, need to have to know at the least the off-set of the wheels to know if they fit or not. yer fenders will thank you for that

There is no need for 225's on a civic. I had been running a pair. which unless you have a rear camber kit (A quality one too) your just going to be rubbing all day. With 225 vs 215 or even 205, your adding more overall weight. And with such big rims and tires, your going to need more energy to get things rolling. Unless your trying to see who can get down the mountain fastest for your profession, you really don't need that much tire.

I personally run 205/45/17, but a lot of guys on here run 215/40/17. Its really all personal preference

many members found out that the 225 do rub on the fenders, even with the correct off-set wheels.
Note: If you buy from a shop or directly, they will direct you to correct wheel sizing for your car. But if buying from someone, you NEED to know the wheel width and off-set. They are the ones that will make them not fit the car.

recent discussion on that matter - even 205 did hit fenders because of the wheels - so don't just say i wanna buy me friends 18" wheels - complete lack of important information. period.

tire wideth isnt his only problem. spacers, offset...and the like all contribute to that.

ill give an example:

i run 17 with 215/40/17 and i am flushed (no finder gap). no rubbing. and yes i am rolled.

however, when i put my touring rims (15" rims) back on that has 195/60/15 (stock tire size)......... i rub like theres no tomorrow in the rear.

which means, offset and the like has a great deal with rubbing...

many guys on here run the 225 without problems (rolled fenders ofcourse)

I have run a set of 215/35/18's for the last 9 yrs without a problem. I am not rolled and I'm sporting 1.5 drop springs with KYB adjustable's. If the offset and width of the wheels are correct you can use them. I used to have a set of 205/40/17's and they rode rough as hell. Just my .02

Im running 215/45/17 and id say thats the biggest you should go. 215 is thick and almost collides with the strut. You could, get longer studs, wheel spacers, and fender flares, but thats too much work.

im running 18s on my em2,with a 1.5" in drop, fenders are not rolled and it dosent rub at all, you need a +42 or more wheel offset, 215/40/18 tires,and speedo calibration is just a fraction off,i use to run 215/35/18 the 40s aspect ratio is better,but opions vary!

First off 18's are to big for civics unless you use 18's right on a newer civic and stance them. Now the tire size depends on your needs are you wanting function or form. We need to know the total size of the wheel and offset to determine.
