Wheel touching brakes

I recently purchased a set of used wheels, and to my dissapointment they are rubbing on my calipers / rear drum. I really like the wheels and don't want to get rid of them. Will a 5mm spacer do the trick to get the wheels off the brakes? I read that 5mm is the furthest you can go without extended lugs. If 5mm isn't enough, what would someone suggest? They are 195/55/R15. I searched around and couldn't find anything really relating to this, so if it's already been covered, I apologize.

Re: Wheel touching brakes

tire size is irrelevant, the off-set of the wheel is the issue.

You could get a set of 5mm spacers and that might solve the problem, it just depends how much clearance you need.

Re: Wheel touching brakes

Ya, I can't seem to figure it out. I guess the wheel itself just isn't wide enough. No one sells spacers around me and I don't wanna buy them online and be sol.

Re: Wheel touching brakes

I'd buy them online and try them... Assuming they are not too expensive. If it's only rubbing 5mm should be plenty.
