Rim Help
Rim Help
I need help deciding what Rims i want to get for my 2001 Civic LX Sedan. It uses 4 Spokes so i have no idea where to find them because i go to Tirerack.com and the rims they show me are all 5 spoke... I have never installed Non-Factory Rims on a car and im pretty sure the 5spoke rims dont fit into a place where a 4spoke once was can you guys help me out. I also would need new tires with them. I know i might be asking for a bit much but it would greatly help me because i am truly lost. If you guys could stick to using Tirerack.com that would be awesome. The car has 14" Stock but i wouldnt mind going up to like 16" just nothing that would require a lowering of the car.
One Last thing if i wanted to switch from 4 spoke to 5 spoke how would i go about doing that?
-Thanks

Re: Rim Help
do you mean you have 4 lug? like the number of nuts holding the wheel on? spokes are just the rim design, it doesnt matter for anything except looks.

Re: Rim Help
I have both patterns on my rims, BTW. 4 and 5 lugs.
I rarely see any rim with less than 4 spokes - they scare me, too much stress in each spoke... and it makes the rim weaker too. anything that hits the rim will have more leverage to bend or crack the rims.

hunh, i see where the problem is now - forgot to tell you to delete the [ URL] [/ URL] from them...
URL means it is a link, IMG means it is a direct image link

Re: Rim Help
Thanks Sdaidoji! Forum stuff always confuses me :P This is my first forum since I was in early highschool, never really got into it. (I just finished my 2nd year uni now).
And ya, those glass ones are supposed to be extremely strong. I saw them YEARS ago on the discovery channel and this thread reminded me of them. The guy made them for exotic sports cars and stuff, and then they slammed the brakes you could see the red hot rotors so nicely!
"The D'Vinci Forgiato Radurra wheels are made from polycarbonate and are totally transparent where one would expect to see spokes. The wheel on display featured 1.5-inch think polycarbonate...each wheel costs $2000"
Those second rims, now that i notice it, is the same company as the glass ones.
