Re: 215/35/18 in the front and 215/40/18 in the back?

all your doing is putting a thinner side wall in the front and a thicker one in the back. i would not do that i have 215/18/40 tires on my ride and no problems. are you trying to put wider tires in the front?

Pointless on a FWD car...not to mention it will screw with your handling. It won't look right either...

redrocket600 is correct...and also, 18's are way to big to put on a civic but that is just my opinion. I think 16's or 17's look best on a 7th gen.

Re: 215/35/18 in the front and 215/40/18 in the back?

^^^ Yeap Evny thats what im going for, because the front you can slow down and avoid the bumps but the back always hits that unexpected bump right after you steer away from the front.

THe suspension gets softer as the car gets heavier and from what i know the civic is not a 50/50 weight distrubted front to back right? So the front wouldnt be as bad as the back would so the Thicker tire(not wider) would soften the ride no?

Re: 215/35/18 in the front and 215/40/18 in the back?

if u get 18" ur gonna want 30 sidewalls

and 215 might be too wide, you'll rub...

get 205/30/18......that should be almost exact oem spec...

and dont think ur gonna lose any "performance" from losing 10 (from 215 to 205) cuz ur car isnt even suited for handling...

its a pointless goal if thats what you were mildly aiming for.

if u wanted handling, you should get some koni/yellows and some light rims with a 45side wall

No im not about teh handling I just want to get back some ride quality (i know there 18s bla bla) Anything helps right.

215 Might rubb? Oh I shore as hell hope not because thats what WheelsNext sent me. Id hope they'd know what they were doing when they sent me thoes becasue the guy who helped place the order was also a Civic driver and said these would go perfect.

cater, the 40 series tire is a great look for the 18" rims on our car just go with them. the 35 is even thinner i went through the same thing trying to decied what tire to get but you will be happy with the 40 all the way around. i love the way my car looks.

I'd go with 40's all around. You will have to rotate the tires eventually. It'll look so weird with thicker tires on the front, and thinner tires on the rear when you do eventually rotate the tires.

If you are not lowered, I doubt you'll rub with 215's.

To me there is no other size to put on a 7thgen civic

And

I'm lowered 1.3" with 215 and no problems

Go with the same size all the way around. Pointless to mix sizes on a civic.

if your driving normally 215 shouldn't rub unless your completely slammed. the only time it might rub is if your driving aggressively or spiritedly on say a mountain run

Not sure I have Eibach Pro-Kit and I have a finger and a half gap in the front and a two finger gap in the back....I know S-techs are lower so it will be close with a 40 series tire....

Re: 215/35/18 in the front and 215/40/18 in the back?

what's the width and offset on those wheels? cause in the end, those two things will have more to do with whether or not you rub than whether you run 17, 18, or 19 in wheels....

for the record though, 215 on 18s should be fine, as long as he's running less than a 9 inch wheel and no crazy low-positive or even negative offets

so im guessing if i run a rim that is 18x7.5 lowered on s techs with tires 215/40/18 , i dont think i'll have trouble with rubbing then? and just for opinions, do you think a 7th gen coupe with 18's without a lip kit will look funny? still debating....
