Tire size question
Tire size question
Hi everyone.
I started Autocrossing my civic this year, and I'm looking at getting some tires just for competition. My region runs street tire stock classes so I need something that fits stock 15x6 wheels and has treadware of 100+. Most people run Falken Azenis RT-615, but they don't come in our size. Could I run a 205/50HR15 tire on the stock wheels? or does anyone else run a really grippy high performance tire they can recommend in a size that would fit on stock rims?

Re: Tire size question
this is just a guess, but running 205/50/15's would be good for autocross as the smaller diameter of these tires over stock will improve your acceleration, although your top end speed will be not as good. but you're doing autocross so i'm guessing you would rather have improved acceleration.
Re: Tire size question
A smaller overall diameter would be of help (you only go about 45 anyway). My main concern is fitting on the rim good enough to not have to worry about popping off or anything like that as its designed fro a wider rim (but not by much).
