brake and wheel problems
brake and wheel problems
i have a couple of problems on my car. The first is the brake pedal. Whenever i push down my brake pedal and release it makes a like squeal sound, which is not from my brake pads. The sound is more like a high pitched whistle or something with air leaking out. It makes the sound while the car is on or off and it's just annoying. Wondering if there could be a leak somewheres?
Second problem is when i'm slowing down or stopped, i hear a strong vibration sound from the back, and i dont know why that is occurring. It sounded like the muffler or something from the rear but i really have no idea. I only hear the inside from inside too because when i go out and check i dont hear anything at all.... and im not paranoid lol
Third problem is when going 40+ mph and just slightly pressing the gas to maintain my speed, i hear like a drumming or strumming noise from the rear. I think it may be the tires but i checked them today and they were perfect.
I have a 2005 Honda civic EX Coupe with 18500 miles so it's pretty new and i really dont think these problems should be happening.

subscribed... I have the same squeek when releasing my brake. The mechanice before said the rear drums components needed lubrication.. it solved the problem for a while, but the noise came back recently
if you feel a vibration from the back when you brake, it's probably something w/ your drum brake pads.

prolly not...well maybe. i think brakes are covered for only 10,000 miles. but ur better off taking it to meinekie (prolly spelled that wrong). i did, cost me 35 bucks but he showed me how to fix it if it ever happened again and they finally figured out that annoying squeak! if u take the drum off, u can see wear marks on the drum (behind the shoes) where the shoes are scraping. im sure u can check urself, its not hard to do unless u just dont have ne tools!
Re: brake and wheel problems
the dealership should have some kind of report on what the cars been through before and after they recieved it and with such a new car it should be very accurate. you could see if the shoes have been changed recently for no reason and maybe theyre could have been an error in the install. is ur muffler aftermarket? have you done any mods to ur car recently that could have anything to do with the rear?
