215/45/17 and a 1" drop- question?

I plan on gettin some 17" rims with 215/45/17 tires and a 1" drop with the eibach pro-kit. Would my tires rub with that specific tire size? Or would I be better off with 205/40/17 tires. I want to lose the fender well gap, but I don't want my car that low since I'm savin room for a body kit.

I don't think putting on 215/45 tires are gonna do ne thing man. Ic ppl putting on bigger rims and way more than a 1 inch drop and not getting probs. But I recommend you in staying smaller. 205/45 or 205/40. After putting 17s on my car, I feel like my car is dragging now. Loss alot of acceleration power. I feel the road is alot bumpier too with the 205/40s so i'm probably gonna go to 205/45 after my tires are gone.

How much slower do you feel with 17" rims? Is it noticeable? I'm thinking of getting 16" rims, but don't know if it'll weigh me down?

that is the exact same set up i had at first(same tire size and springs). after getting the pro-kit, my car still looked like i was 4bying. the wheel gap is still to much. i would recommend at least a 2" drop, you won't rub and the gap will be less noticible. in the end,i ended up dropping my car 2-1/2".

I noticed you said you have an AC revolution muffler. Are you happy with it because they make a carbon one that looks sweet but I dont know if they are worth a rats.
Thanks.

Thanks for the input. I plan on gettin a kit first (when i decide on the one i like the most), then comes some new rims and a drop. I have 15's right now, and they really helped. My car became a bit faster after installing the 15's then it got better with the cai and muffler. I'm goin all show now, so I'll look at more pics to see what'd be best

02CarbonCivic: I personally like the muffler. It was loud even with the silencer when I upgraded my piping to 2.25" but it became hardly noticeable when i returned to the stock piping (the silencer). My CAI helped the air flow later on, so both the CAI and the muffler sound good now. Nice deep growl, and i feel my car has more pull when i floor it.
