Itching at the brakes or the wheels?

Ok so I'm getting the itch to mod my car again.

My suspension is done, no more touching it. Maybe later I'll dress it up with strut bars and all that good stuff.

Now I want to move either improving my cornering grip or brakes.

Right now I'm running the stock EX alloys with 205/50/16 Falken RT615s. Awesome! But do you think if I get a wider rim I'll be able to corner faster? I should right? If I'm going to get new rims I wanna go lighter as well. Any recommendations?

As for the brake setup, its completely stock. I'm looking to get new pads and some stainless steel brake lines. Maybe even new rotors. I don't wanna get anything so powerful that its just going to cause my wheels to lock up with less pedal pressure. I want something that will give me increased pedal feel and better fade resistance. I don't want anything cheap or sissy thats going to break on me, I run my car hard and I want quality parts. Any recommendations?

Thanks guys, I appreciate the input.
Hopefully all your recommendations will help me choose between rims or brakes and find a good setup.

Re: Itching at the brakes or the wheels?

i say get it allll.... for brakes, i'd say just get SS Russell lines, new pads.... say Axxis/PBR Ultimates (i can get the fronts for i think $38???? so let me know) and i would recommend new brake fluid as well.... maybe ATE Blue or Motul RBF600 cuz i helped me big time with brake fade. and if your stock rotors are still good and have a good amount of metal left, just keep them and have them turned.... cuz rotors are rotors and the slots/drills are more accessories than anything
Total run you about $160-200

As for wheels i'd suggest Enkei RPF-1 cuz their very light for casted wheels, strong, and "cheap"/affordable for what you get out of them.

but if you have to choose one or the other, get the brakes first. you're already running some sticky street tires so it'll hold up. plus it'll cost less for the brake setup rather than getting a set of new wheels and tires.

just my outlook on everything
