17inch, et47 offset

Hi guys, i'm looking at some bronze Work Emotion CR or XT 7 in a 7x17in for my 03 EM2.
I remember reading somewhere about the EM2 offset ideally being between et40 and et45.

The Works are only available in et47, and i'd like to know if that would be okay? Would i have any fender rubbing issues?

Also, with the slightly wider offset, i guess i ought to stick to 205 section tyres?

Thanks in advance

47 isn't wider, its narrower. It'll hit the spring seats in the front, and the shock towers in the back. Especially if the car is lowered and has some camber in it.

Thanks for the reply.

I am planning on dropping it quite a bit.
So if i was planning on some slimline full coilovers (KWs), would i be ok since they aren't as wide as the stock spring seats?

Perhaps if i used some 2mm spacers on the hubs too? Would i be ok then?

Or do you recommend i dont get +47 wheels?

Thanks

I recommend you find something else that fits. Spacers are never a good idea... its band aid fix for buying wheels that don't fit.

47 is the offset and it does not make the wheels wider or narrower...

Second, yes, he's right, the offset is too high. It will be a tight fit, but doesn't mean that you still can't put on those wheels. you can use 5mm spacers, nothing wrong with spacers. i use spacers on my car with OEM wheels to give it a more aggressive stance....

Good luck....

Ok, thanks. I guess if you run them with no bother then they must be allright. Not that i'm ignoring your advice either Boilermaker, i'll just obviously have to think about this a fair bit.

Thanks for your input guys.

The track is narrower with a higher offset. Anyone who knows how to size wheels would figure out what was meant.
