Rep Power: 0 18' Rim Question
Hey you guys, I'm new at this. I have a 2003 Honda Civic EX and I'm interested in getting rims on it. I'm hooked on the 5Zigen 5ZR 18' Rims, but from what I've heard getting 18's on a Civic requires a lot of changes? I really need help here because I don't know whether I should get them or not? My uncle told me that it might require my car's computer being all fixed to recognize the difference or something.
Please Help.

Rep Power: 324 Alright, first off, It's not going to require the computer or any suspension pieces changed at all to get 18's on there. If you get 18's with 225/35R18 tires on it, your speedo would only be .7 miles an hour over, which means when your speedo says 60, you're actually going 59.3 miles per hour. The biggest thing I would be concerned about is the reduced braking power that you're going to have with 18 inch rims. Bigger rims = more rotating mass = more strain on the braking system = increased braking distance.

I think the rolling of the fenders depends on if you're lowered, and if you are lowered, how much camber you're running

Rep Power: 324 Yeah, get some Brembo blanks and Hawk pads. I've heard good things about that combo.
And yes, it's not that hard to roll your own fenders. I had to roll my rear ones at home, rubber mallet and being careful and taking time made it work great

Rep Power: 307 ive had 18inch rims for a few months now...didnt have to change anything, still drived the same - didnt have braking issues either (then again i have newer brakes bc my car is an 05).
I just lowered my car too and still drives fine.
