Rep Power: 253 Yeah, sand it the best you could (a wired brush mounted on a drill helps alot) then, I would recommend using dupicolor caliper paint, I should have done that from the beginning than using regular high temp paint. Dupilcolor caliper paint kit is a brushed on paint, so its easier and less masking required and it has ceramic compound of some sort which will help it last longer with brake dust.

Rep Power: 239 no Im talking around the rotor itself up on the front brakes. I have rust around the whole rotor itself. Do I just spray disk cleaner on them or do I have to have them sanded down?

But maybe someone can confirm that...

Rep Power: 253 I didnt do anything to the outer edges of the disk, since I cant really see them, but I did paint the centre ring of the disk by the bolts.

Rep Power: 399 Its iron, no matter what you do to it, its going to rust. It gets hot, heat nukes the paint (even the high temp junk). Just come to grips with the fact that brakes are functional, not pretty, and let them do their thing.
If it really bothers you that much, buy lots of paint cans, cuz you'll be painting them every time it rains.
