tire pressure

just curious, but who checks their tire pressure regularly? [except for the racers here, ie. boiler and zzyzx]

the last time I check my tire pressure was about 6-7 months ago ... and it the fronts were "set" at 28 psi, the backs at 32 psi. This was after I had driven a short distance as well. Checked in the day time.

Well, I just check my tire pressure yesterday after 6-7 months and [after a drive], it registered about 45 psi for the fronts and nearly 50 psi for the rears ... wtf. I know air expands with heat, but I didn't think it expanded THAT much. [from winter to summer]

I lowered my air pressure down to 32 front, 35 rear [just to be safe ... I didn't know if the air would compress to far under 30 psi].

Any thoughts?

o yes. and the car feels a bit slower for some reason. T_T;;;;

I do it once a month. There's a lot of **** on the roads around here that can cause slow leaks and I'd rather catch them sooner then later

Every 2 months at LEAST. My tires are rated at 51psi so I run at 40.
Gas mileage is better and the car rolls very easy.
No abnormal wear at all. So there.

Every time I fill up
I have my tire pressure gauge magnetized on the gas cap door.
Reminds me to check my pressure.

I try to do it every 2 weeks or so. The longest I'll go without checking them is a month. I have a digital tire pressure gauge kept in my car so I never have to look for it.

I am gonna actually answer aznboysrfr's question.

Its either someone else messed with your tires (a shop, your parents, your gf, your friends), or you put air in and you dont even know it.

^ ;P trust me. I haven't touched the air in my tires in a long time.

I did get a few alignments since then, though ... but I don't think they would mess with it? ... but I suppose it is possible.

I check about every week or 2 weeks since two of my tires have nails in them with slow leaks. I try to keep them at 43psi front and 40 psi rear.

Yup, i use the bicycle pump too. It takes like 10 pumps to get 1 psi but it beats driving down to the gas station or having a bulky air compressor in the garage.
