225/45/17, will they rub with coilovers?
Yes, I've searched all throughout forum but still couldn't manage to get a straight answer. A friend of mine is selling a set of Falken Ziex ZE 512's, 225/45/17 for a pretty good price. The only thing which is stopping me is that I'm not sure about the size.
Will 225/45/17's rub on 17x7.5 rims with a 45 offset? Mind you, I have Tein SS's. Does anyone have any experience with this issue?
Cheers

Well you got height adjustment, adjust it up and down, in and out and make them fit. Thats such a huge tire and its so far inboard, my money is it rubs and there's nothing you'll be able to do to fix it.

i would suppose for you to want tires that big, why even have coilovers, just get some 215/45s and call it a day, that SHOULS work. just get them and see if they work at your local Discount Tire Co. store

The only reason why I'm considering 225/45/17's is because my friend is selling them for a great price. But since in most likely cases it'll rub, I guess I won't bother. Thanks for the replies.
ill chime in a little on this. i had 215/45/17 17x7.5, 45mm offset wheels on the civic coupe with skunk2 coilovers. i had to adjust my rear camber kit so it sits a little negative to prevent fender rub. up front, i had the perch set a little above the halfway mark and the rear was 2/3" lowered. otherwise, it would touch if i wanted to tuck my wheels. as for the front, i had to keep it at 1/2" finger gap because i would rub up front during a moderate rough turn at high speeds or just making u-turns.
i can only imagine 225 being worse than what i had. but 215/45/17 was a good choice, just not great for those who wanted to tuck and slam their civic with [me].

I noticed when I installed my 215/40/18 with eibach sportsline that on the back inside fender there a plastic piece that would be in the way if you went larger then 215. 215's are perfect for our cars. I wouldnt go larger, no point
i am running on 225/40/18. inner front left only rubs when i turn the steering wheel all the way to the right.
im using springs from neuspeed (sport) color red.
if u use 225/45/17. most probably the same case, since the profile is higher than a 40 series. are you on lowering springs? stock height should't have a prob
and to add my rim specs is 18x8, offset is +48.. do consider this
