Secure Lugnuts

I am wondering what are the best lugnuts you can buy as far as security goes. I don't care about looks or colors, etc. I just want to come back to my wheels everytime.
I read the stickies and did a search but couldn't find an answer. About all I found out was that all lugnuts can be removed w/ the right tools, but I thought I'd ask anyways.

You answered your own question. If someone wants them bad, they're going to get them, its just a matter of how long you want to make them work at it.
But more than likely, they're just gonna take the whole car.

Honestly, Unless you're rolling on something insanely rare or something insanely expensive, one set of locks will be enough of a deterrent and send the opportunist looking for something else.

Lets face it... no one's jacking ADRs and Rotas if there's a set of spinners down the street. Do the math.

i'm sure by know you figured out there is none that is perfect.... if youre really desperate and want a lot of security, get 4 different sets of locking lugs.... sounds a bit insane?? yuup! but hopefully the thief wont bother with your car.

If you live in a bad neighborhood, a good set of lugnuts are the least of your problems.

Instead of spending money on the car, use it to move out to somewhere better.

The stock locking lugnuts are sufficient as a deterent. Getting different brands or a different key won't matter because a universal locking lugnut remover will remove all of them.

I'd say a decent detterent in itself is a wheel that has recessed, narrow lugnut cavities...so only a thinwall socket can get in there...most tools from what I've seen are thick....thats just me.....and I've got a set of gorilla locks on my car...is that really so bad...?

As I stated in another related thread, what needs to be produced is a locking lugnut with a hardened free spinning collar. That would render the current universal locking lugnut removers useless. If somebody has seen one which fits this vehicle, I'd be interested in hearing about it.

you mean like a ball bearing type neck?

if thats the case, well i dunno but wouldn't that take away from the rim design?

Huh? No. Not like a ball bearing neck. Not sure what you mean by that.

Like a hardened steel tubular cylinder which surrounds the exposed edge of the locking lugnut. Similar to how an exposed deadbolt cylinder on a door has a hardened steel collar around it to prevent a monkey wrench attack. The collar spins freely to prevent you from grabbing the edges of the locking lugnut.
