Just ordered falkens for the winter

anyone have experience with these tires? they are falken ziex512 all season. Reason I bought these were cuz it is winter now and it will rain soon, I really wanted drag radials for better performance but in rain I heard about the bad hydroplaning it causes so I ordered these. THey costed about 280 shipped for all four 205/50/16 size, can anyone tell me if these tires perform well in the rain, it was either this of bfg gforce sports which handles better in dry, but i really wanted something that could handle rain better than dry since next couple months will be winter with bad storms etc..

Yes they do, they are great tires for the buck, although they hydroplane a bit around 140mph..

i dont plan on going 140 in the rain, i do however need most wet weather traction because im going to be pushing over 200whp so i dont want to skid all the time

well california doesnt snow so I wont need to be worrying about that. I might take it to big bear though where it snows but ill most likely have chains on so it wont be a big deal.

He he..I was kidding about the speed. I can only dream of going that fast on my car. Anyways, I wouldn't know about snow traction cause of where I live, but it does rain a lot down here. The Falkens haven't dissapointed yet..

Falkens are ok in the snow.... it's a decent tire with wet and dry in mind. not bad for the wet (although there are better) and good for the dry.... a good cross between the 2.

How long do they last? I've had mine for about 18,000 miles now and they're starting to feel like they're not as good as when I got them.

I just got some less than a month ago on my stock 15s. They're great! smooter and quieter than the others ones i had on. They do quite well in the rain. i remember when i had my firstones and tried to take off in the rain and I would just peel. With the falkens they actually try to catch traction.

^seriously these are cheap for tires, if u can fork up money for these tires, u got big money problems, cause one of the most important things for your car are the tires.

i have these tires on and there great tires with 360 treadwear rating, which is great for the price. a for temperture and a for traction. so +1 for these tires.

falkens are alright, i tried them, the 512s and they lasted me only a yr tops. they were fine in the snow during the winter and there fine all year round. i moved up to the bridgestone potezna g009. they ran about 400 for all 4 and they are a great tire so far in the rain. the falkens would slip and slide, the potenzas, not one inch of movement. i hope these last longer then the falkens.

rims in the rain

so whats the deal with having my rims on when its raining, i heard it could be bad. i have the gunmetal vx-8s, and it seems like the color is fading. could it be because of the rain, or should i not worry.
