New wheels=new alignment?

Can anyone let me know if new rims need a new alignment after mounting them? I just had some bent rims then switched to honda rims and I just need to know if i need alignment. thanks for any advice in advance...

no you shouldn't need alignment... only when you lower it. i switch took of my rims and put on the si wheels, alignment was just fine for me.

i balanced the wheels so it could be the tire/wheel installer that put the tires on wrong? cuz i used the same tires on my damaged rims on my new rims, but maybe the guy put 1 rear tire to the front and one front tire to the back, would that cause any trouble? I feel safer with my bent rims.

the car feels rough like it moves left right but not enough to move the car, just the steering wheel.

no its not... i put more air in cuz the tires were at 30 psi and now at 40 psi and seems somewhat better, I think cuz my tires are thin? honda recommends 205/50/16 tires but mines are 205/45/16 and i made sure before I bought the honda rims that if those tires would work and they told me the 45 and 50 difference is only on thickness of the tire, not the size.. hmm.. i feel as if my bent rims rode better.

uh thats a bit much for air, thats kinda askin for a tire blow out. drop the air down to 32-35 psi. it might feel a lil more softer. if yer saying like if u drive thro a little grove in the road and yer steering wheel feels like it shifts thro that grove than thats normal. you just have a bigger contact patch. i thought the same but my friend told me thats normal b.c the tire is moving thro the grove. with the smaller contact patch u wont see that b.c its small enough to ride thro it with no problem. i dont exactly have the full explanation(sp?) of it but its normal. that is all true if u went from smaller diameter tires to the wider tire. but def the biggest thing u need to do immediately is drop the air pressure to 32-35 psi cause if u drive right into a pot hole or something yer tires will either buldge or explode.

as for gettin an alignment, it is good to get an alignment whenever u dismount and mount tires to the car b.c it may move things around but it isnt that necessary. kasimmmm is right, it is only necessary to do an alignment when u lower the car.

if the ride is your problem, a thinner tire will ride rougher usually.
