I put on some 17's with 205/40/R17 size tires, which have a smaller diameter than the stock 04 rims, and now my car pulls to the left quite a bit. It did slightly before the change over but not as much as it does now. Any ideas why? Could it have anything to do with the strut bar?

If all you changed was the tires, it probably didn't throw the alignment, but if it pulled before, get it checked. Wider tires make the car track, magnifying any issues you already had.
