Thumping noise from brakes?

I had my car at the shop a few weeks ago and they said my brakes are only wore about 45%. Although when I stop fast I hear a thumping noise coming from the front brakes. What do you think the problem is, considering the brakes are still legit? Thanks...

thumping noise could be wore out wheel bearings. I had the same thing happen on my old escort. Does it get worse as the speed decreases?

Did they check your rotors? If your car shakes as well as the noise I say that might be it. The rotors could be warped.

I was thinking it could be the rotors because as the car is coming to a complete stop the car kinda acts like it catches then uncatches (you know what I mean).

The car definately shakes especially at high speeds. What are symptoms of a bad bearing? Or does this sound more like rotors? Thanks Guys.
