noise from left front wheel

im gettin a noise from the left front wheel on tight right hand turns and the same noise if i do an emergency stop, sounds like the thin metal shield behind the brake disc vibrating but it doesnt look loose and the same as the other side of the car.

any ideas guys?

I had the same problem with my blazer when I owned it and it turned out to be a bad hub assembly. I'm a new civic owner and I don't think that they have a hub assembly but maybe it could be a wheels bearing. My uncle is a mechanic and he said to jack the car up, grab the wheel on the top and bottom and try to wiggle it. If it moves he said it's more than likely a bad wheel bearing. Hopefully this helps. Good luck

First thing to do would to be inspect the brakes/front end. Anything is possible to cause that noise . If your unsure take it to a qualified mechanic

why does everyone think that just because there car has low miles that certain parts wont be bad yet? Just cause your car has 9000 miles on it, doesnt mean your wheel bearing didnt go bad. I have seen cars at my work with 5 miles on the odometer have failed transmissions, cracked blocks, bad bearings, everything. Some parts fail early and some parts last a lifetime. Best bet is for you to take off the wheel and inspect everything. What you can also do is jack up your car on all 4 fours and have someone put the car into drive and then turn your car to the right and see where the noise is coming from. This way you can simulate the problem as if you were actually driving.

well i have tested the wheel bearing, and it doesnt sound like a wheel bearing, it is only sounds sometimes on tight right hand corners if the road is a little bit bumpy,

take it to a good mechanic and have him take it for a spin, replicate that sound and go from there.

becuase when you jack the car up and press on the corners you would get movement if it was bad and also the noise would be different as i had a bad one on another car

noob

rEkKaShInObI, you say it's the brakes. What is being done to fix it and how did you figure this out? I have the same front left noise, louder when turning right, softer but there when driving straight, and it came up after I did the pads and rotors in the front. I'm trying to trouble shoot the issue. Thanks for any advice!

I changed my brake pads, when my dad and i examined it, it was well... lets just say i found out where all the squealing came from. my dads friend changed the brake pads and it was fixed, all the squealing stopped. it cost 70 bux to fix. 50 for parts, 20 for labor. everything is fine now, the brakes just need a little breaking into.

I have the same problem too, turning right i get a sqealing noise. Sounds to me that the pad is just catching the disk, and when you straighten up it dissapears. If there is enough play in the bearing to cause this amount of movement, the bearing is shot. Mine getting done Monday. Mine needs disks and pads but that aint the problem.

my noise is more of a creaking noise, maybe the rubber joint on the anti roll bar, only on right hand turns and doesnt happen with someone in the passenger seat (RHD)

Why not just take it to the dealer? 1 year old and 9k, should be covered, no? Or are there parts on the car that would make the trip to the dealer your last covered one?

because if the mechanic comes out with me it wont do it as it never does it with two people in the car and if he went out on his own, you know he will say "i cant hear anything" and all that, also if you push the car down on its shocks it is silent and normal, i have checked that nothing is rubbing or come loose and it all looks normal so it is a mystery

Apologisies to Rekkashinobi, your right, i am wrong, was the brakes. There is a little metal antivibration clip or used to hold pad in place, when the pads wear down like mine this clips just touches the disc, hence the noise. Wish i would have had a look myself, had to pay labour at garage when i could have fitted em myself.
