squeaky brake pads civic '02

i just had my brake pads replaced with probably some really crappy regular ones and now the squeaking i had before i replaced them is about 10 times worse.

is this still ok as long as my pads aren't worn? i can live with the squeaking (i think) and the guys at the garage want to charge me a lot more for better pads. isn't it their responsiblity to know which ones work or not??

anyway, they also put '01 pads on my '02 car and i was wondering
if that could be the problem as well. what should i do? replace them again or is it ok to not?

From my post on similar thread
Brakes unfortunately make noise by design. Squeeks and even sometimes a faint grinding sound can be heard do to .... tempature outside, humidity, dust, driving habbits, driving conditions........................................ .................................................. .................................................. .................................................. .................................................. .................................................. .................................................. ................. , and when the moons of jupiter align just right. Getting rid of these noises can be difficult if not impossible.

Eh, I have PBR pads and they have great bite, but they make a ton of noise. More expensive pads doesn't exactly mean that they will be more quiet than others.

Id say put the pads on yourself, and when you do, use a ton of disk brake quiet on the entire backing of the pad.
