how many miles on stock re92's
how many miles on stock re92's
Hey, just wondering how many miles the 04-05 folks put on the stock re92's before they were worn out and needed replacement.
I have like 20k on them now and they look like they could go at least 10k more. I am am thinking of replacing them because they are getting a little scary in heavy rain/puddles.
Another quick question. how much $$$ is getting tires mounted and balanced generally?
Thanks

Holy crap, you actually drove those craps to 20k miles? You must have some ***** keeping those tires so long. I got rid of those POS' at 10k miles. They handle like crap in rain, snow...wait EVERYTIME. Do yourself a favor, don't put on RE2s again, EVER.
$100! meh, I hate spending money.
Believe me I have no intention of getting the re92's again, but come on! they arn't that bad! they are just a dated design. The goo'ey 160 treadware rateting actually gives em some stick.
the replacements would be Falken Ziex Ze 512
but back on topic, mileage count, anyone?

tire wear depends on the rated amounts and how they are driven on. if grandma was driving her brand new civic, her re92's could even probably lasted 50k. i cant give you specific answer cause it really depends on how you use them, sorry.
if those are super crap, then some of you dont know the torture some of us went thru with the firestones fr690.
falken 512 = good choice
very good daily driver tires as i heard from every forum i visit

Back on topic..... The RE92's don't really have a mileage rating.
The tire people I deal with, (Hogan Tire) say that you could expect about 30k-40k. I work at a Subaru dealership. We use the O.E. RE92 on some Legacy models. They tend to last about that long too.
