ss braided lines question

I went to order the full set of braided lines for my 02 coupe and the guy said not to bother due to the rear drums. He said that it was a total waste of money and would not improve my braking at all without cross drilled rotors etc. He did however say that simply switching to motul synthetic brake fluid, and keeping the stock lines would be my best bet and provide beter response. what do you think?

Edit... I just reread it, I need to be less tired when I go through this forum. Stainless lines wont do much. with or without X drilled rotors. X drilled rotors make you stop in longer times anyways. The fluid, yeah, as long as its DOT 3 or 4 will help. But stainless lines, I don't think theyre needed, and you can pass on Xdrilled rotors.

That guy doen't know what he's talking about.

the only thing SS Brake lines improve is pedal feel. they dont stop you better, they dont reduce brake fade... nothing. They simply give you a better feel from the brakes so you can modulate them better.

Go some place else. the guy doens't know any thing about brakes. or at least the info he does have is wrong/flawed.

Rubber lines crack and flex. Stainless ones do not. And while they may not offer a significant improvement over brand new rubber lines, they do last longer.

Think about this, brakes are actuated by fluid under high pressure (1200 psi), which do you think would work better?

And I used Russell lines and ATE Super blue, and it did improve the brake feel, though I admit changing the fluid will help the pedal feel.
