I was taking my wheels off to replace my front brake pads and realized that one lug nut was extremely difficult to remove, actually damn near impossible. So after unsuccessfully trying to torque it with a make-shift lever, I quit, hoping an air tool would do the job. My buddy used his 500lb air tool and surely it came loose...along with the broken stud!!!!
Is replacing the front wheel stud for a 2001 Civic coupe something that I can do myself or is should I bring it into a shop? Also, how much should I expect to pay?
Thanks!

Now on the rear, you can take the drum off and knock the wheel stud out.
you can get a slide hammer and pull the hub off the knuckle with out taking anything else off. i have extra studs that came with my H&R wheel spacers that i don't need. do you want them? it's a set of 8.

Wells its pretty simple if you have the tools. Like Roy said you need the slide hammer and what you do is connect it to your remaining studs and screw it on. Then you give it a couple hard wacks and the hub should come off.

Yeah its really not a simple remove and replace proceedure.
I got my front replaced for $40 and the guy gave up and took the hub off.
You do need a press to remove it.
