Need some help guys!

Ok I plan to have my car lowered on 18's with a 40mm offset. OBV this is not enough to be slammed so I was wondering if it is possible to bring them to a machineing shop and have them shave off 5mm? Can all machine shops do this? How much will it cost? I tried searching but could not find any thing.

I know I could roll my fenders, but I would prefer this method.

Thanks for ne help guys

5mm is a lot. Before you do that, you better make sure there's enough material in the wheel seat that you can do that. Otherwise you stand the chance of cracking the wheel hub when you torque the lugnuts down. Honestly I think its a stupid way of doing it, and I'd raise the car up before you start making changes that could weaken the wheel.
Should you figure out it can be done, make sure the place who does it does it with a CNC and make sure they're turned on a machine that can turn within .00005 (5 ten thousanths) or less... if the don't spin true, you're gonna have wabbles when you put them back on.

Alright, It all depends on how much it will cost me. Next time I go up to my cottage Ill take a look to see how much room there is to shave off. Why do you think 5mm is too much, isnt a wheel with 45mm offset ideal for being slammed.

A wheel that comes with a 45 offset was designed that way. It was cast with the offset in the hub to fit that dimension. You want to take the hub of a 40mm offset wheel and thin it down. Thats almost 1/4"... they don't leave that much extra in a wheel so you can shave it off. I think you're going to make the seat too thin. 1mm, yeah, sure, 2 maybe, 5 I doubt it.
