16's or 17's ... Give input!
I have a 2004 Civic EX Coupe.
Im in a toss up between 16's or 17's, no omatter what i am going to lower my car 1.4", i have heard if you get 17's it slows you down, which we are civic here so that doesnt really matter, and 16's obviously are better for racing. 17's have the advantage of looking better i guess?
What do you guys think, post up.

If you're racing (as opposed to street ricing), then you should be on the lightest set of 15s you can get on.
Other than that, its all looks.

they make light 17s and heavy 16s as well as light 16s and heavy 17s. The 17s are just going to cost alot more money. Besides; the added rotational mass from any extra weight added to the drive wheels is very negligable as long as they are well balanced. The bigest downfall to a lower profile tire such as the ones on the 17s is the lack of traction. Therefore you cannot launch at as high rpms as a larger tire such as the ones on 16s = slower 60' times and slower 1/4. Then again your launching ability has alot to do with the tire compound as well as the pressure. So go with what you can afford and like the best

16s because you can get a tired that is close to stock and will give you a nice cushion and you dont have to worry as much about rubbing if you got 215/45/17
