it depends:
have clearance for wheels so it wont rub
rim wide enough to suppor that size tire
do you care if your speedometer is altered
etc

You should be ok.

Quick question: Would using a 17x7 be ok for a 225? I mean would it fit correctly? Or would I need a 17x7.5?

I believe with a 225 tire .. you'd need to go up to the 7.5

I do think you are cutting it close for rubbing issues ... and since your only going 17's ... I'd max go with a 215 ... because don't forget a 45 sidewall of a 225 is getting pretty thick.

although I like a thin sidewall ... IMO a 205/45/17 is nicest sidewall ratio .. but the tires are abit skinny ... I'd settle tho for a 215/45/17

For mine I got 215/40/18 ... and they look pretty good.

I love my neogens. I was looking at the specs and it looks like they fit on a 17x7 wheel.
