Brake Upgrade

Ok i have a turbo and my car is alot faster but that means i get up into the 100's alot fast so when the light turns red i havto stop and im usualy on the brakes HARD, and one time they started smoking like crazy. so my question is i want some advice on a good brake upgrade. and my bigest paroblem is brake fade. so if you have done an upgrade let me know. and the rear disc conversion really helps.

1st step, upgrade your pads to a higher temp pad. (No point going getting a big brake kit if you dont NEED it, and besides Biger rotors = more rotational inertia = slower acceleration). That should clear up your brake fade problem.

after that it would probably be a good Idea to get some High Temp Brake fluid. ATE Super blue or Type 200 would be a good choice.

Finally, you may want to look at some slotted rotors (They wont make you stop faster but will reduce the chance of glazing your pads).

and FInally, If you truly want shorter stopping distances..... Get better tires.

What pads are you using? and the 17s are also hindering your braking power... (Allong with acceleration).

Nither; the stock pads are the problem, not the size of your rotors.

All big brakes give you is Higher thermal capacity. Thats it. If you can control your heat problem with Better pads, then you are MUCH better off runing the stock sized rotors then a big brake kit. Simply because the larger rotor will hamper your acceleration.
