Help!!! EMERGENCY!!!

Alright I was chaning my brakes today and had my little STUPID! nephew over.

I was working on the drivers side first so I had taken off the two pads and had the caliper typed to the spring. Well my little nephew got in and pressed the brake all the way in exposing the piston to far!!!!! Now it won't go in, I spoke with Honda and they told me the caliper is screwed up! I went to a mechanic he said the same! Help! Where can I get a new caliper honda wants 146 for one!!!! help please!

hondaautomotiveparts.com for OEM parts is good. Sorry about your brakes, but at least they're okay for now.

I am not sure about this, but I think rebuilding the caliper might help, but ask about that.

if the piston came out of the caliper it dont mean that its bad, as long as you push it back in without damage to the seal. As far as rebuilt calipers the aftermarket hasnt began making them for the 01+ civic that im aware of. But im sure that you can prolly get a rebuild kit ( Square oring and dustboot ) if need be.

I'm not the sharpest tool in the shed but I've done quite a few brake jobs & I'm a little lost. Does anyone understand why the brakes would be OK now but wouldn't make it through another brake pad change??? I would think the caliper is either OK or it's not. Anyone?

Do you mean the rotors are ok now but wouldnt make it through another brake job? If so that means that they are getting down to the min. thickness or machine to thickness and cant be reused.

Ok guys here is the update. Thanks for all the info. The piston was resored and it works fine. There is one problem though

Before I changed my pads and brakes there was a loud sound coming from the front left. When I inpected it, the front left rotor was scracthed deep! alround the edge on the rotor. Something was on the rotor that sunk in and embeded itself.

Now that I put on the brembo's, axxis pads and flusehd the system it still does it!! What the hell! My new rotor is messed up. There is an even louder noise when I drive and turn and stuff. Seems like something is rubbing against the rotor. It's not the pads because the pad will rub no matter what without doing that damage. I dont' kow what it could be. ANYONE THAT MIGHT KNOW PLEASE HELP ME

Alright nevermind the problem was solved. You see Tireplus! Messed up my car gain! They didn't tighten the nut that goes onto the axle.
