perfect time to pump your tires?

hi guys, i've searched a lot of our threads regarding my question....still..

when is actually the perfect time to pump our tires?

OK, i know that i should leave my car for about few hours in order to "cold' my tires....
I've read lots of articles about this...including the one in tirerack.com

now....as we know, the tire's pressure depends on the ambient temperature...
so, what do you guys think about the perfect temperature (F) to pump your tires?
in the sense that I've let my car and the tires cool down for several hours...

right now, i just realized that i did something stupid....i re-pressurize my tires at 30psi on "hot/warm" condition....which resulting in low-pressure just now when i checked it...it's actually on 24psi on this "cold" condition...

the temperature right now in my area is 46F.....and I haven't drive my car for the whole day...

just now, i re-pressurize my tires at 30psi on the same condition...

what do you guys think? this might be one reason why i got low MPG....

opinion, guys?

actually...the car's running nicely now..

oh yeah....i actually filled up my gas tank again after inflating the tires to the correct psi..

let'see..

i filled up 12 gallon the night before i pumped my tires.....i drove 39 miles before re-fueling my car...

the thing is, i filled 1.3 gallon at that time..........

say, 1.3 gallon for 39 miles @ 24 psi tires..............BAD?

I think maybe you are thinking way to deeply into the concept of putting air into your tires. Just put 35 psi in there or whatever the reccomended amount is and check it again in a couple days. if you are having to consistantly re-air them, you could be having a slow leak. Your lesser inflated tires will give you more of a smooth ride, but will wear the treads faster. Over inflating your tires will reduce overall wear, but may induce uneven wear, and will make for a rough ride.

The perfect time to check your tires is usually in the morning because the tires have cooled down AND because it is usually the coldest time of day that you will be driving during. So, set your psi to 30 or whatever psi you would like, during this cold time so you know you are always driving around on a minimum of 30 psi.

you want to save gas.... Use less Right foot. accelerate as slow as you can, and cruze in the highest gear you can. Low RPM = Less gas used.

get the right alignment settings and psi... drive 70mph on the freeways... and you'll be like me. 36-37 mpg consistently.

ive found that 39 miles is not enough of an interval to "check" your mileage. let it go till you are almost out(on E amybe). this way the tank will have had a better aveage of what your normal driving habits are. example, at around a half tank, i can have anywhere from 80 miles to 140. whereas if i go to near empty i usually have 240- 280 miles. point being, if i would look at my mileage with 80 miles i would think "Man, that sucks". but, on that same tank, i may get a high 280, witch will have greatly improved my MPG. also, when you want to fill up, dont keep clicking it to "top it off". this will make for inconsistant readings. i always fill it to the first click. that makes for more of a consisntant reading.

Half a tank = 80-140!!!!??? damn, our gas gagues are bad. I'll have 100 on 1/4 down. When I drive down to San Diego 320 Miles, i can get there and still have a quarter tank left.... And I have an EX! (as long as I cruze at about 70-75)
